Sir 
Alan Lloyd Hodgkin is a scientist who studied the electrical properties of the 
neurons and 
axons of 
Loligo squid. He, along with Sir 
Andrew Huxley, and Sir 
John Eccles won the Nobel prize in Physiology in 1963 for this work.
