Nucleotide

 
The basic molecular assembly making up DNA and RNA. Each nucleotide is comprised of a "backbone" part containing a phosphate group, and a sugar molecule (deoxyribos in DNA, ribose in RNA), along with one of the bases (ATCG, and U) which are used to store encoded instruction sequences.
