Experience is considered a component of
phenomenal consciousness (as a primary component of the concept of qualia).
This is just some spitballing, and an attempt to pull out some specifics from areas that are currently a bit vague, or ambiguous.
What is an experience:
. . . . .
1. An experience is something that causes the agent (the entity having the experience) to alter how it responds (reacts) to future experiences.
2. An experience consists of these components:
- External stimuli to the agent (or internal stimuli?).
- Internal reaction or response by agent to external stimuli.
- External reaction or response by agent to external stimuli, if any.
- Internal stimuli caused by agent's response.
- External stimuli (or changes to it) caused by agent's response if any.
- Learning: changes in how the agent will respond to future experiences (to future stimuli). Here, the future can be measured in fractions of a second to years.
