Jevons, William S.

Professor William Stanley Jevons - (W. Stanley Jevons) Professor of logic and economics at Manchester. Worked along with Augustus De Morgan, and George Boole toward a more rigorous, formal form of logic expression. Jevons corrected some inconsistencies within Boole's algebra of logic by reinterpreting Boole's OR as an inclusive, rather than exclusive, OR.

1835 - 1882
(September 1, 1835 - August 13, 1882)
